Melting heart :)

I had a lot of great people telling me that they like my work, I hear a lot of compliments and I appreciate each and every one. But this one made me tear up and I felt so proud and happy. Here is a picture from one of my customers and a little story.

Mixed animals

Long time

I haven’t had much time to get information on here, just because I was so busy. I’m going back home to Latvia and preparation was taking all my time :) Just for a month but since I haven’t been there 5 years and going to see a lot of people I wanted to take some little presents with me.

National Film Board/Quickdraw Animation Society Production Scholarship.

OMG I’m so happy I got “National Film Board/Quickdraw Animation Society Production Scholarship” What it means? it means I’m a happiest girl in a world. When I was small I loved cartoons and wanted to make them one day, well now my dream will come true. Yes I did 2 animations and it felt great but now I can make my own independent cartoon , and boy I will work hard :) I’m incredibly thankful to Quickdraw to give me this opportunity. This is so big for me to get it.

Also I want to thank my husband , son and my parents who supported me , I love you guys ♥♥♥

Now I’m going to get great education and sky is my limit :) I wish every great dream will come true. Wish big my friends ♥

Custom order - "Brazil"

I had a very awesome request from my great regular customer Adam. He wanted me to felt character from the movie "Brazil" I never seen it and it looks very weird, but now I want to watch it. So thank you Adam for expanding my world and I had good time felting this interesting character :)

Nesting Dolls #3

Here is the 3 version of Nesting dolls (Matryoshka) It is currently at “Motion Gallery” downtown Calgary, they are for sale . One of a kind I will never try to copy previous dolls. It is not my usual type of art so there won’t be a lot of them. Something really special from my Russian crazy soul to you :)

Nesting Dolls #2

This one is really weird and gory it calls “Hang in there” It is a man who was hung and when you open Matryoshka you take one layer of a body .

1) Is man himself

2) His bones

3) His guts

4) Stomach content

5) The Soul

Really unusual for me to paint something that different but I needed that. Let me know what do you think about those :)

They are one of a kind, and there will not be custom orders on Matryoshkas. I will be making them only when I have free time from my other projects. So keep your eyes open for more :)

P.S there is little secret which will be given to the owner :)

Zombie Matryoshkas (Nesting dolls)

I got some blank Nesting Dolls recently and when I had mood for them I started to paint them. It is harder than it seems but not too bad, it was a lot of fun and thinking :) I’m Russian and Matryoshkas are one of the symbols in Russia and Europe so I thought to play with my imagination and symbolism I came up with this zombies.

They are one of a kind and I will show more later but this one is first :)
